mitziemee.com One final visit to the tuna auction at Tsukiji Fish Market back in April 2015. Before Tsukiji’s famous fish market (the inner fish market) relocated to Toyosu in 2018, it was one of my favorite places in Tokyo ❤️ #tokyoblog

mitziemee.com Kalix Löjrom (vendace roe) is one of very few Swedish products with PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status. Kalix Löjrom and Chips was trending a couple of years ago, and it has developed into a true modern classic. It’s such an indulgent snack, so when I saw it on the menu at Seid, I just had to order it. So delicious!

Pre-dinner cocktails at Salon du Nord with AC, Kristian, and Steve—really cozy, really good drinks. Steve had the Mosjøen, which turned out to be the coolest cocktail of the night. I had the Stavanger, which tasted like dessert and even came with chocolate. Not a bad way to kick off the evening! #cocktails #norway #stavanger

mitziemee.com The bright yellow banana juice with honey is one of the most popular drinks at Borderline Collective’s Tea Garden restaurant. It is easy to make, and it tastes amazing, like sunshine in a jar. Ingredients 1-2 ripe bananas 1⁄4 cup honey juice from 2 limes A pinch of salt (a pinch of sugar if you want sweeter flavor) 2 cups water ice Directions Boil the bananas until they’re soft. It will typically take around 10 minutes. Scoop out the cooked banana and place it in a blender. Add honey, salt, lime juice, ice (and sugar). Blend for 15-20 seconds. Serve in 1 big glass with a refill, or two small glasses. #bananajuice #juicerecipe

mitziemee.com I love the hot and sour taste of a good tom yum soup, and the one at Pe Aor is one of the best you’ll find in Bangkok and probably in the entire world if you ask me. In front of the restaurant, there’s a big, simmering pot of tom yum broth. This is the open-air kitchen, and this is where the food is made. The signature dish at the restaurant is the lobster tom yum, which is a big bowl loaded with lobster, other kinds of seafood, and egg. It’s delicious, and there’s more than enough for two people to share. #tomyum #lovster #bangkok

mitziemee.com Hoi Tod Chaw Lae is a street kitchen/restaurant close to Thong Lo BTS Station known for pad thai and hoi tod. Most of you are probably familiar with pad thai, but for some reason hoi tod has never gained the same widespread popularity internationally even though it’s a really popular street food in Thailand. #streetfood #oysterpancake

mitziemee.com The beach at La Pared is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Fuerteventura. It is wild and untamed, with high cliffs and big waves, and it features one of the most amazing sunsets on the island. A steep rock staircase leads down to the beach, and the lower part is often wet and slippery from the waves, so you have to be careful not to fall. #fuerteventura #canaryislands

mitziemee.com It was really fun to see how the Pa Thong Ko was made. The ladies at the stall worked quickly, tossing small pieces of dough into the hot oil and expertly swirling them around until they puffed up and turned a beautiful golden brown. I ended up with a big bag of Pa Thong Ko—far too many for one person, but they looked irresistible. Fresh from the wok, they were crispy on the outside, and warm and pillowy on the inside. They were sprinkled with sesame seeds and had a slightly savory taste. So good! They were everything you want in a morning snack, but despite my best efforts, I couldn’t finish them all. I saved some for later, but Pa Thong Ko is best enjoyed fresh. #streetfood #thailand #travelblog

mitziemee.com Bibimbap is a true Korean classic, and one of those dishes that I never get tired of and I’m not kidding when I’m telling you that I could eat bibimbap every day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner:) Directly translated, bibimbap means “mixed rice,” which captures the concept very well, as bibimbap is rice served with various types of colorful vegetable toppings, neatly arranged in separate segments. Contrary to what many believe, raw vegetables are not used in bibimbap. All the vegetables are either blanched or sautéed and seasoned with a bit of sesame oil, salt, and garlic. #koreanfood #bibimbap #recipe

mitziemee.com The breakfast was served buffet-style and had all the usual American breakfast suspects plus some fun extras like chia pudding, smoothies, and a bagel station. The bagel station was my favorite. You toast your own bagel, and the cream cheese options are homemade, at least that’s what it says on the signs. I had an Everything bagel and went with smoked salmon cream cheese on one half and scallion cream cheese on the other half. #jfk #deltaskyclub #frequentflyer #travelblog

mitziemee.com I’ve celebrated New Year’s Eve in Bangkok several times, but it wasn’t until 2022 that I made it down to CentralWorld to experience the countdown. I arrived in Bangkok that very morning, and since I was traveling solo, it felt like the perfect opportunity to join the city’s biggest party. Central World is known for hosting one of the most spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations in Asia, and I was curious to see if it lived up to the hype. Spoiler alert: it did. From concerts to fireworks, the energy was contagious.🎉 #happynewyear #nye #bangkokblog

mitziemee.com I love mochi, and I love strawberries, so this beautiful little treat is right down my alley. However, it took a while before I started making ichigo daifuku at home, as I figured it would be too difficult and messy. I was right about the messiness, but it’s a lot easier than you would think. Furthermore, nothing beats freshly made mochi when it comes to flavor and texture. Velvety soft, slightly chewy, and amazing together with the red bean paste and the strawberries. Ingredients 5.3 oz (150g) red bean paste 3.5 oz (100g) shiratamako rice flour ⅔ cup (150ml) water 2 tablespoons (25g) sugar Potato starch for dusting 6 small to medium-sized strawberries #mochi #ichigodaifuku #strawberrymochi

Steve and I were both feeling a little under the weather, so I started browsing for some comforting stew or soup options for home delivery. After having tofu stew at BCD Tofu House twice that week, I decided it was time to try something else. Miss Korea is probably most known for KBBQ, but their online menu caught my eye with ginseng chicken soup and rice cake soup on the menu, which felt like just the kind of nourishing comfort food we needed. Both soups are mild and not spicy at all, with flavorful broths that feel like a warm hug on a cold day. mitziemee.com #korenfood #nycblog. #soup

mitziemee.com In Denmark we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. The evening is the culmination of weeks of festivities and preparations, and it is by far the biggest holiday in Denmark. It varies a lot how people in Denmark celebrate Christmas Eve both in terms of what people eat, when they dance around the Christmas tree, and when the presents are opened. I have asked 5 of my friends, and it turns out we all celebrate Christmas in different ways, so in order not to make it too confusing, I will only share how Christmas Eve is celebrated in my family. #christmas #scandiliving #denmark #christmastree

mitziemee.com When AC and I were visiting Korea, my Korean friend Shinae asked if we wanted to come to her brother’s wedding. At first, we were a bit hesitant to accept the invitation, as we did not want to intrude, but Shinae explained that weddings in Korea are big events with hundreds of guests, so two more did not make a difference. Well, in that case, we would love to go! First, there was a performance by a wedding singer, and then the bride made her entrance, descending from a balcony-like structure. What an entrance! Then her father slowly walked her down the platform to the end, where the groom and his parents, along with the mother-in-law, were waiting. It felt like a movie scene, with the bride as the beautiful star. #koreablog #koreanwedding
