mitziemee.com We went for brunch at Smør in East Village and it felt like we were having brunch at a cafe in Copenhagen. I had the smørrebrød with Danish pickled herring and it was delicious. In Denmark, the herring is pickled in a vinegar-based brine with sugar, onions, and spices, giving it a sharper acidity that pairs perfectly with Danish sourdough rye bread and Snaps (Danish aquavit), but unfortunately, the latter isn't on the menu at Smør:) I also had a Danish hotdog, complete with remoulade, fried onion, pickled cucumber slices and all. #nycblog #danishfood #brunch
