We had the most amazing time exploring the PA Grand Canyon (Pine Creek Gorge) in @thepawilds! Here are our top recommendations for a visit to the area: (Make sure to save for later!) 🏠 Rent a modern cabin at Hills Creek State Park. They sleep 6 and are very budget-friendly. Bonus: This park is great for kids! 🥾Hike the Turkey Path at Leonard Harrison and Rim Trail at Colton Point. 🪨 Take in the views from the Barbour Rock Overlook. 🔥 Climb the fire tower near Leonard Harrison for more great views. 🍦 Stop @wellsborocreamery for a treat after all that hiking! The mountainous Laurel Highlands region of southwestern Pennsylvania covers 3,000 square miles and includes 3 counties: Fayette, Westmoreland, and Somerset. This small section in Somerset County is my absolute favorite to explore. It is so quiet and peaceful. All 4 of these spots are fairly close in proximity so you can see them all in one day. My itinerary: 1. Scenic Tower at Laurel Hill State Park. 2. Barronvale Covered Bridge 3. Cole Run Falls 4. Blue Hole Creek

We had a blast exploring Lackawanna County in NEPA!There is so much to do in this area. We only had two days but we packed a lot in. Here is our trip itinerary on a budget: 🏠Rent a camping cottage in Lackawanna State Park $40/night 🥾Hike in Lackawanna State Park. Ziegler Preserve had so many red efts. 🛶Rent a boat at Lackawanna State Park from Kayak the River $15 for single and $25 for tandem kayak per hour. There is a swimming pool in the park but it is currently closed. No swimming in the lake 🥾Nay Aug Park 🍕A Little Pizza Heaven. 🍦Ice cream at Manning Dairy 🪨Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour 🚗Archbald Pothole 🎨The Office Mural

You won’t want to miss this fun spot in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Buttermilk Falls Natural Area is located in New Florence, PA and was once the summer estate of Fred McFeely, the grandfather of Fred Rogers of Mister Roger’s Neighborhood. It’s a short and easy walk on a paved and crushed gravel surface to a viewing area of the waterfalls. To get a closer view of the waterfalls you will have to travel down several flights of stairs to a walkway behind the falls. Visitors can also take a short 0 6 mile hike on the McFeely trail while visiting the Natural Area. Be sure to Leave No Trace while enjoying Buttermilk Falls. Stay on the designated trails steps and viewing areas to protect this fragile habitat. Note: There are quite a few Buttermilk Falls in Pennsylvania Make sure you have the correct Buttermilk Falls before visiting!
