What it is?
Near-perfect pasta is our go-to choice for meals any night of the week, but we especially love how easy it is to prepare a romantic dinner for two (less time in the kitchen, more time enjoying the evening). With so many noodle, sauce, veggie and protein options to pick from, your options are endless. Besides being delicious, pasta has plenty of health benefits too, including being cholesterol-free, low in salt and a good source of folic acid. We've pulled together some of our favorite spices to kick-start your cuisine, whatever you decide to whip up. Buon appetito!
Highlighted Ingredients
- Porcini Paradiso Italian Blend - An aromatic blend containing the finest dried porcini, warming garlic, herbs and a hint of Calabrian chile. For a delicious anytime meal, sauté with butter and toss with some fresh pasta and a sprinkling of parmesan.
- Sacred Valley Pink Peruvian Salt - Hand harvested from ponds on top of the Andes Mountains close to Machu Pichu, making it mineral rich and of the highest caliber for every dish you create.
- Late Harvest Black Peppercorns - Vine ripened until red before drying, giving them a ruby hue and a unique fruity spice that we like to grind fresh on nearly every dish, including pasta.
- California Dried Garlic - Less temperamental in a hot skillet than chopped raw garlic. For a full-bodied flavor, rehydrate by soaking in water for 10 minutes before adding to your other ingredients.
- Maras Chile Flakes - One of our favorite single-origin spices. They add bold, irresistible flavor to dishes without an overpowering heat, making them perfect for every palate.
- Island Nutmeg - A warm and savory spice that adds depth of flavor to dishes. The nutmeg is packaged in a kernel form, so a clean grate means you get its fresh, fragrant taste every time.

Tips for Success
- Avoid pouring spices over a steaming pot or pan, as the steam can get in the jar and cause clumping.
- Grind our Sacred Valley Pink Peruvian Salt superfine to make popcorn salt.
- Use a pepper grinder to crack the peppercorns over a finished dish.
- Use our California Dried Garlic almost anywhere you would use fresh garlic or grind it into a fine powder for your own spice blends.
- The flavor compounds of chiles disperse in oil, so use less of our Maras Chile Flakes in oil-based dishes and more in water-based cuisine for the right amount of heat.
