I made this mantel for our family room so the Shrimp would have a place to hang her garland for Christmas. It was actually a really easy build because I used a Kreg plunge-cut track saw + track saw guide. This combo makes perfectly straight knife-clean cuts in plywood with no tear-out, so making this mitered box was a breeze! Skating Pond Candle DIY ⛸️ *if trying this, be sure to keep the wicks on the other side and use 1 or at most 2 wicks depending on your bowl size. Place the candles in a large pot filled with water and bring to simmer a simmer. Allow the wax to melt completely. Remove 1 or 2 wicks from the candles, then place into one end of your bowl. Secure the wicks - you can use skewers to hold them in place. Pour the melted wax from each candle into the bowl. Allow the wax to harden. Place your trees on the other end of the bowl and pour some more wax. Allow the second round of wax to harden, then cut the wicks before lighting. #christmas #christmasdecor #christmasdecorations
