In the 1993, European Grand Prix at Donington Park, Ayrton Senna delivered what many believe is Formula 1âs greatest lap.
After a challenging restart where he was briefly relegated to fifth by Karl Wendlingerâs Sauber, Sennaâs masterful driving allowed him to pass Michael Schumacher at Redgate Corner, Wendlinger through the Craner Curves, Damon Hill at McLeanâs Corner, and finally, Alain Prost at the Melbourne Hairpin. This extraordinary sequence, coined the âLap of the Gods,â proved Sennaâs goated skill in adverse conditions.
Senna maintained his dominance throughout the race, ultimately winning by over a minute - with only Damon Hill finishing on the same lap.
