April is Autism Awareness Month This month means so much to me—not because it’s trendy or acceptable to talk about autism, but because autism is personal. It has shaped our family in the most unexpected and meaningful ways. Autism doesn’t define us, but it has molded us. The stats say 87% of marriages with special needs children end in divorce… but not us. We dug our heels in and fought together. Through the sleepless nights, meltdowns, therapies, and uncertainty—we chose each other and our kids, every single day. Tripp was nonverbal until Kindergarten and only ate a handful of foods. Fast forward to today: he’s sassy, talkative, has amazing friends, and plays football! He’s put in over 62,000 hours of therapy—HE did that.
