This is how to hem a pleated dress using the rolled hem function on the Juki MO-654DE overlocker/ serger! My client brought me this dress saying all the online reviews said that this dress couldn't be hemmed! But that's because most cleaners will only have a few industrial machines for common hems-a lock stitch machine, a blind hem machine, and an overlocker/serger. Many modern domestic overlocker/sergers have this rolled hem function! Check your manuals to see if your machine can convert to do this kind of stitch finish (yes, I'm that person that actually reads the entire manual before l use something lol)! This is how to make a bag insert! 👜 The pattern pieces for this project are super simple. And if you want to go the extra mile, you could add additional pockets & maybe finish the edges with binding tape (although you really won't see the raw edges once it's inside your bag). This is a great solution to add structure to flimsy tote bags as well!, and the felt is super light, so it doesn't really add any additional weight you have to carry either.

This is how to sew a cargo pocket! Usually, a cargo pocket is made with thinner fabric than fleece, so the top & bottom edges should be folded over & stitched for a clean finish, but my sewing machine can't handle that many layers of fleece. Although-I don't actually mind the raw edges here, because fleece doesn't really fray!

This video is for the long limbed people! For certain lined garments, like blazers, you can lengthen certain parts like the sleeve or hem, but you may not have much fabric to play around with. It is still possible though!

This is how to properly shorten the straps of a lined dress! You have to seam rip your straps open if the rest of the bodice is sewn down. 🪡 I have an older tutorial on how to shorten the straps of a lined dress that is a quick n dirty version, but it technically isn't the correct way to shorten straps. 😅
