This is how to sew a cargo pocket! Usually, a cargo pocket is made with thinner fabric than fleece, so the top & bottom edges should be folded over & stitched for a clean finish, but my sewing machine can't handle that many layers of fleece. Although-I don't actually mind the raw edges here, because fleece doesn't really fray!

This video is for the long limbed people! For certain lined garments, like blazers, you can lengthen certain parts like the sleeve or hem, but you may not have much fabric to play around with. It is still possible though!

This is how to properly shorten the straps of a lined dress! You have to seam rip your straps open if the rest of the bodice is sewn down. 🪡 I have an older tutorial on how to shorten the straps of a lined dress that is a quick n dirty version, but it technically isn't the correct way to shorten straps. 😅

So there's a few things you can do to fix a boxy vest-this one takes the longest to do, but the cute little tie detail is worth it, and it's completely adjustable so you can make the vest as tight or boxy as you'd like! What do you think is the best solution in this case?

This is how to sew darts without a sewing machine! I do not recommend this method normally. There will be very slight puckering because it is hand-stitched, but that's just the beauty of the imperfections of handmade things!

The blind hem stitch is my all time favorite stitch! It is a hem finish used commonly in high end & couture clothing because it truly is a labor of love. It leaves little-to-no trace of stitches on the right side of the fabric. No sewing machine required!

Lightweight windbreaker/nylon jackets often have an elastic cuff, and this is how to shorten the sleeves if they are too long. This technique also works for shortening the elastic hem as well!

Did you know you can crop a hoodie even if it has a pocket?!This makes such a huge difference, especially if you have a shorter torso! Something I hate about the fit of most hoodies as a short woman is that the rib hem always gathers at my hips, which doesn't do anything for the figure. I find that the most flattering length is right below the waist & above your hips!

More often than not, for us shorter folks, the reason why longer shirts don't look right on us is because proportionally, the shirt is too long and cuts off the length of our legs. Unless you're intending to wear a long shirt as a dress, I always recommend cropping tops to at least above your hips so that you get both your leg length and butt shape back 😉 Plus, if you crop your tops to around this length, you won't have to worry about finding the right pants to tuck your shirt in.
