They are called under cabinet, under counter, or task lights, but they can also be used to light the inside of your cabinets, for general up-lighting on top of the cabinets, and for night lights when you want to grab that movie time snack. These under-cabinet lights are easy to install, will save energy, and light up those areas where general lighting creates shadows as you stand in front of the workspace/counters.
The lights come with a hardwire knockout and cable/wire connection, but they can also be plugged in with the optional plug-in cord and connector sold separately. They can be individually installed and controlled with a switch or dimmer. They are also linkable with the optional linking cables that can be purchased separately.
While called under cabinet lights, they are often used in office spaces, closets, crawl spaces, workstations, work benches and other areas where safe low-profile lighting is preferred over decorative lighting. Generally, they are used in coordination with décor general lighting and accent lighting to compliment the completed lighting requirements of a space.
