Milk clarification preserves a cocktail for many months. It also changes the taste and texture. It softens the cocktail like shaking or stirring a cocktail would. It adds a texture similar to the result of a fat washed spirit or cocktail. Mine was a touch boozey, I adjusted the recipe for a more crowd pleasing cocktail. Always trust the description. Nutmeg is always a good idea with anything milk clarified. In fact, I'd argue most cocktails are better with nutmeg, but maybe I'm nuts.
