- Turkey Tail Mushroom:
Turkey Tail was traditionally used in China to treat pulmonary diseases and has been used for it's immunomodulatory effects in Japan and elsewhere. It has also been researched for it's anti-inflammatory properties and it's ability to regulate gut bacteria and the microbiome. Turkey tail contains prebiotics, which help to nourish the beneficial bacteria in the gut. But the focus of much of the modern research on Turkey Tail has been for it's breast health benefits. - Astralagus:
Astragalus is a traditional lung tonic and one of the primary herbs being used by herbal practitioners during the crisis.
It is traditionally known to strengthen what is known in China as wei qi, which is essentially surface level defenses. A 7-day double-blind study showed that 1.23 grams of astragalus delivered twice per day activated the natural defenses more effectively than echinacea.
