The dog jump at Stand Rock in Wisconsin Dells is a 5.5-foot chasm. The jump is made between Stand Rock and a nearby cliff, with a net strung low between the two. Explanation The dog jump is part of a boat tour on the Upper Dells. Dogs jump across the chasm and back for passengers on the tour. The jump is also the subject of a famous photo taken by H.H. Bennett in 1888. The photo was the first example of stop-action photography. In the photo, Bennett's 17-year-old son, Ashley, jumps the chasm to the top of Stand Rock.
