Purple Dead Nettle is a fantastic medicinal herb that grows just about everywhere wild You can identify it by its purple topped leaves flowers square hollow stem and earthy smell To use for its antihistamine properties I recommend drying and then storing in an airtight container like a mason jar and using it as tea You can either add it into a tea that you like so you don t really taste it or you can drink it on its own but it has a bit of an earthy taste Try making a batch of sweet tea and add this in to give the whole family a little support during allergy season It only grows this time of year so collect as much as you can. This plant is often affected by powdery mildew so collect as early as you can and if you see white splotches don’t collect.
