Arepas Arepa dough 32 oz bag precooked white cooked cornmeal such as Pan 2 c mozzarella cheese more for filling 1 2 c melted unsalted butter 2 tbsp Greek yogurt 2 tsp salt 1 2 c brown sugar 6 c warm water Directions All ingredients to a large bowl Mix well until it s almost like a wet play dough texture You can also taste a piece of the masa to see if it needs more salt or sugar I measured 1 3 c for each arepa Roll into a ball then make a hole to add more mozzarella cheese Close the dough then flatten it into a circular disc like shape Cook on both sides on medium heat in a pan with oil I flip about 3 -4 times while cooking for a more even browning.
