The most common causes are 1. Natural climbers. Many common houseplants are actually vining so they will look for things to wrap around for support Staking them gives them a central vertical space. 2. Lack of sunlight. If your plant vines are escaping the pot then they are literally in search of sunlight. Moving them to a sunnier spot or higher up to the window should help 3. Overcrowding. When they run out of space within the pot they begin growing outward. Itโs time for a larger pot a stake to add vertical space and or some pruning. 4. Weak stems. Overwatering or heavy blooms can weaken the stem so they need some extra support for stability. 5. Lack of nutrients. Overtime plants deplete the soil of nutrients and get hangry. A dose of plant food and a layer of fresh soil can help.
